The Sub Aqua Section

This active section provides a friendly welcome for all Sub Aqua enthusiasts. From beginners to the more experienced, the section can encourage and guide all members.

The club is a recognised teaching establishment . Training  is provided, and follows the programmes set by BSAC to achieve the required standards.

We have the facility for charging cylinders with air or Nitrox; air charging is free to members, and there is a small fee for charging with Nitrox.

Group or single dives are organised using dive boats owned by club members, or those of local businesses. A very successful "Dive Week" was held earlier this year, with only one of the ten diving sessions cancelled because of the weather. Which then promptly became a group social !

The harbour authority require all boats to have VHF radio and insurance.

Enjoyment  is the aim, safely and in accordance with BSAC standards.

The Section meets every Wednesday evening from around 8 p.m. As volunteer members run the bar on these nights, you can always find someone to talk shop!

The Club is also open on Fridays. During the period November to March, the Bar is open on some Sunday lunch times and Saturday evenings when volunteers provide hot meals. Details of these events are circulated to members. For details of planned social occasions, click on the "Club" then "Social Calendar" tab in the menu.
